All tests offered by NICA have Emergency Use Authorization by the FDA. The specimen collection process is supervised by medical professionals from NICA. (All other frequently asked questions may stay the same)
Samples are collected by you inserting the swab less than inch into both nostrils while rotating the swab several times against nasal wall. This should not hurt.
For a saliva test, the sample is collected in a sterile container. You simply “dribble or drool” 0.5 ml of saliva into a collection tube.
NICA currently offers free testing with no out of pocket cost for those with insurance and $150.00 for the uninsured
NO out of pocket cost with insurance coverage (including private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid/Medical). $150.00 for the uninsured
Yes, all results are reported daily to the patient’s county of residence. By law, our testing partners are required to report these results.
