Getting Started with SPRAVATO® at NICA
At Nursing Infusion Centers of America (NICA), we understand that exploring new treatment options can feel overwhelming. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
Before Treatment: Your First Steps
You can schedule a SPRAVATO® consultation directly with our team to explore if treatment is right for you. You can also speak with your current doctor and have them refer you to us.
To begin, simply complete our Patient Intake Form and we’ll take it from there.
During your initial consultation, a licensed healthcare provider will:
- Review your medical history and treatment goals
- Check your insurance coverage
- Determine if SPRAVATO® is a good fit for your needs
Please note: Treatment is typically not administered during your first visit.
We’ll also coordinate care directly with your referring physician and walk you through the full treatment process so you know exactly what to expect.
What to Expect on Treatment Days
On treatment days, you’ll self-administer the SPRAVATO® nasal spray under the supervision of a trained provider at our center. Afterward, you’ll remain onsite for at least 2 hours so we can safely monitor your:
- Blood pressure
- Oxygen levels (pulse oximetry)
- Overall response
Your comfort and safety are our top priorities during each session.
🚗 After Treatment Care
Because SPRAVATO® can cause drowsiness or dissociation, you should not drive or operate machinery until the next day after a full night of restful sleep.
Treatment typically follows this schedule:
- Weeks 1–4: Twice per week
- Weeks 5–8: Once per week
- Week 9 and beyond: Maintenance frequency decided by you and your provider
Note: SPRAVATO® cannot be used at home. All treatments must take place in our monitored setting.
